Spotlight on: International Youth Day

Established by the UN in 1999, International Youth Day is an annual celebration of young people, and an opportunity to raise awareness of challenges facing the world's youth.

To mark this occasion, we have:

  • Curated a list of articles on education, training, and the labor effects of sports and substance abuse in the young
  • Created this infographic showing the scale of youth unemployment in selected regions and why vocational training may be one solution

In addition to this, to mark the day:

  • Professor Klaus Zimmermann has written a LinkedIn Pulse piece on vocational training
  • Werner Eichhorst has written a blog post about the six key points on the European youth unemployment crisis
  • Michael Leeds has written an opinion piece on the impact of youth sports on educational and career success

Follow @IZAWorldofLabor on Twitter and share your opinions on the youth unemployment crisis, or visit our website to learn more.
