Successful labor reforms should be rewarded, says Klaus F. Zimmermann
Our editor-in-chief Klaus F. Zimmermann has suggested introducing incentives to countries for implementing beneficial structural reforms.
To encourage the improvements in labor markets and social security systems, Zimmermann recommends awarding relevant countries a bonus from European Union funds.
This would offer these countries financial flexibility in the medium-term, “without compromising the policy of fiscal consolidation”, says Zimmermann.
