IZA World of Labor informs B20 Taskforce Report

This weekend (November 14-16), global leaders are meeting at the G20 summit in Antalya, Turkey. While at the summit, they will receive prioritized policy recommendations from the B20 Employment Taskforce, whose report IZA World of Labor's Editor-in-chief Klaus F. Zimmermann has contributed as a member. The report focuses on three key recommendations:

1.  Produce a business-friendly environment to create employment opportunities.

2.  Increase youth and female labor force participation by making labor markets more dynamic and inclusive.

3.  Develop and finance programs aimed at reducing skills mismatches in an era of innovation and rapid technological change.

IZA World of Labor, as a key resource for evidence-based policy making in labor economics, played a key role in the preparation of the report.

The following IZA World of Labor articles are cited by the B20 Taskforce:

- How responsive is the labor market to tax policy? by Richard Blundell

- The effect of early retirement schemes on youth employment, by René Böheim

- Do labor costs affect companies’ demand for labor? by Daniel Hamermesh

- Youth labor market interventions, by Jochen Kluve
