Zimmermann joins Academia Europaea Council

Our editor-in-chief and director of the IZA Professor Klaus F. Zimmermann has been appointed Chair of the Section for Economics, Business and Management Sciences of the Academia Europaea.

The Academia Europaea is a functioning European Academy of Humanities, Letters and Sciences. Members aim to promote the value of European research and knowledge among governmental bodies and the general public.

The association has over 3,000 members in total, of which 54 are Nobel laureates. Membership is awarded on the basis of eminent success in the individual’s chosen field of study, after peer group nomination and scrutiny by the Council.

Professor Zimmermann’s article for IZA World of Labor focuses on the economic effects of circular migration, and the benefits of free labor mobility.
