    The 8th IZA/ECONtribute Workshop on the Economics of Education will convene international scholars focusing on the development of skills within both formal and informal educational contexts and their valuation in the labor market. The conference will feature a select group of presenters, alongside a poster session for local researchers from the host institutions. Presentations and the keynote speech will be accessible via Zoom to an external audience.

Taking place among a series of cutting edge talks at the Allied Social Science Associations conference, run by the American Economic Association (AEA), this panel discussion outlined the importance of supporting policy formation with evidence-based research. Empirical scientific analyses can guide the process of evaluating and implementing effective economic strategies – information made freely accessible by IZA World of Labor.

The discussion was moderated by IZA Director Klaus F. Zimmermann, and featured comments from IZA’s Richard Blundell, Richard B. Freeman, Daniel S. Hamermesh, James J. Heckman and Robert Moffitt.
