    The 8th IZA/ECONtribute Workshop on the Economics of Education will convene international scholars focusing on the development of skills within both formal and informal educational contexts and their valuation in the labor market. The conference will feature a select group of presenters, alongside a poster session for local researchers from the host institutions. Presentations and the keynote speech will be accessible via Zoom to an external audience.

To coincide with International Workers’ Day on May 1, 2014, IZA hosted an exclusive event to officially launch IZA World of Labor.

The breakfast meeting comprised a roundtable discussion led by IZA Director Klaus F. Zimmermann, and chaired by Dr Arup Banerji, Global Director for Social Protection and Labor at The World Bank.

IZA’s Amelie F. Constant made a special presentation of her paper, “Do migrants take the jobs of native workers?” to the audience of senior policymakers from the US Department of Labor, US Chamber of Commerce and the American Federation of Labor. IZA World of Labor was further represented by Solomon W. Polachek and Robert Lerman
