    The 8th IZA/ECONtribute Workshop on the Economics of Education will convene international scholars focusing on the development of skills within both formal and informal educational contexts and their valuation in the labor market. The conference will feature a select group of presenters, alongside a poster session for local researchers from the host institutions. Presentations and the keynote speech will be accessible via Zoom to an external audience.

Join the IZA Summer School in Labor Economics

The IZA Institute of Labor Economics is excited to welcome PhD students working on labor economics and closely related topics for its 24th IZA Summer School. The Summer School gives you an opportunity to learn from leading researchers about the latest advances in labor economics. In addition, the accompanying student presentations and mentoring sessions will provide a great platform for you to showcase your research and get valuable feedback.

After the Summer School, you are invited to stay for the IZA 25th Anniversary Conference on July 5 and 6 – a unique event combining cutting-edge research in labor economics and a policy panel of leading policy-makers and economists.
 

Funding

IZA covers accommodation and travel costs for all participants, conditional on attending the entire summer school. We will also fund extra hotel nights for summer school students attending the conference.

Kindly note that tax regulations prohibit IZA from fully reimbursing the travel expenses of summer school participants who combine their trip with other destinations or extend their travel by more than one day.
 

Submission

The IZA Summer School is open to PhD students in economics. We particularly encourage applications from female students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The application deadline is March 31. To apply, please fill in the online application form and attach a full paper (working paper/complete draft) and your CV. Your completed application also needs to include a letter of recommendation from a senior advisor or faculty. Please arrange the recommendation letter to be sent to (balgova@iza.org) by the application deadline.
