    The 8th IZA/ECONtribute Workshop on the Economics of Education will convene international scholars focusing on the development of skills within both formal and informal educational contexts and their valuation in the labor market. The conference will feature a select group of presenters, alongside a poster session for local researchers from the host institutions. Presentations and the keynote speech will be accessible via Zoom to an external audience.

About the Summer School:

Since 1998, the annual IZA Summer School in Labor Economics has taken place in the conference center of Deutsche Post DHL at the Ammersee lake (near Munich) in Bavaria, Germany. The objective of the Summer School is to bring together a large number of PhD students and senior lecturers to study new areas in labor economics. Students have the opportunity to present their work and discuss ideas with established researchers in a relaxed and open atmosphere.

The School is open to advanced graduate students from European universities, or Europeans studying abroad, engaged in the preparation of a doctoral dissertation or approaching that stage. Around 30 students will be selected, based on their preparation to participate in advanced study on the subject.

Applications

Applications to participate should be submitted by February 15, 2020, using the online application form. Please submit your CV and an abstract for a potential presentation of your research work. A letter of support from your PhD supervisor must be sent before the deadline by email to Andreas Lichter (lichter@iza.org).

Notifications will be sent by February 28, 2020. Funding Accommodation and travel costs will be covered by IZA conditional on attending the entire event. Kindly note that tax regulations prohibit IZA from fully reimbursing the travel expenses of summer school participants who combine their trip with other destinations or extend their by more than 1 day.
