    The 8th IZA/ECONtribute Workshop on the Economics of Education will convene international scholars focusing on the development of skills within both formal and informal educational contexts and their valuation in the labor market. The conference will feature a select group of presenters, alongside a poster session for local researchers from the host institutions. Presentations and the keynote speech will be accessible via Zoom to an external audience.

While most research in labor economics focuses on advanced economies, the majority of the world’s population and particularly of the poor live in countries where labor markets often work quite differently. This year’s conference was held in Peru and aimed to provide a platform for researchers and policy experts to discuss new research findings and identify areas where further analytical and policy oriented work is needed.

In recognition of the importance of investing in quality education and promoting skill use, the conference featured special sessions on skills for productive employment.
